  • We are seeking experienced registered nurses who will embrace the challenge of rural inpatient and emergency nursing. In line with our workforce plan we are developing skilled staff that can cover many areas within the team.

We are excited to announce an internal opportunity for the position of Registered Nurse. This position is open exclusively to Health New Zealand \| Te Whatu Ora staff only. About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nurse care and assessment to patients across a rural emergency and inpatient ward. This is an excellent opportunity for current employees to take on new challenges, broaden their skill sets, and grow their careers within Health New Zealand \| Te Whatu Ora Waikato.

Key responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive patient assessment and care
  • Emergency triage and assessment and stabilisation
  • Medication management
  • Collaboration and coordination of care
  • Health education and advocacy

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO Collective agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances, professional development and wellness support.

About you

As a Registered Nurse. An adaptable, quick-thinking, and team-oriented nurse with a passion for rural patient and emergency care will thrive in this role. Previous acute care experience is beneficial, but those eager to learn and grow in a high-paced setting are also encouraged to apply. You will ideally have:

  • NZ work visa \& current Annual Practicing Certificate;
  • Experience working as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand;
  • 3 years post graduate experience and/or escort or transfer of patient experience;
  • Triage and/or plastering skills would be desirable.
  • Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
