About the role:

Looking for a role where you can learn new skills extended your knowledge and make a real difference in people lives? This could be the role for you!

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse in our Eating Disorder service. You will be working across Child, Youth, and Adult Services to facilitate both primary and secondary care services in accessing appropriate treatment and support and/or advice around all Eating Disorder referrals. You will support provision of seamless service delivery across the continuum of services, easy transition between services and continuity of care for individuals and their families as close to their home as possible.

This vacancy is situated at the Community Mental Health Centre on Springs Road, East Tamaki.

Salaries are based on the PSA Mental Health \& Public Health Nursing Collective Agreement, Registered Nurse Scale.

Essential:

  • New Zealand Mental Health Registered Nurse with relevant mental health nursing experience
  • Ability to carry out assessments and to establish individual treatment goals and plans in partnership with the patient and whaanau
  • Ability to engage and relate to children, young people and their families/whaanau
  • Either a knowledge of, or a desire and ability to learn about, evidence based Mental Health models for Eating Disorders
  • Full and clean NZ Drivers Licence

Key to the role will be your ability to consult and advise the adult community so previous training or experience of consultation models will be a distinct advantage but training and support will be offered to a candidate with the right attitudes and values and a desire to learn.
