Key Responsibilities
- Organize and control the operations of the café (staff, customer service, finances, supply chain)
- Plan menus in consultation with chefs, coordinate specials, ensure consistency and quality
- Manage purchasing, inventory, and pricing to meet budgetary goals and margin targets
- Recruit, train, supervise, and performance-manage staff (kitchen, baristas, front-of house)
- Monitor staff rosters, labor costs, and productivity
- Ensure café complies with all health, safety, licensing and food hygiene regulations
- Handle customer issues, ensure high levels of service and customer satisfaction
- Maintain financial records, analyze sales performance, prepare reports and forecasts
- Promote marketing activities, social media engagement, events, and community partnerships
Requirements / Qualifications
- A relevant qualification of level 5 — or at least 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, think strategically, and make decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with food safety, licensing, health regulations
