Fabricator Welder (Full-Time, Permanent)

About Us

Merlin Plastics is a leading plastic recycling and manufacturing company committed to sustainability, safety, and operational excellence. We are looking for a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our maintenance team and support plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to work on time and adhere to scheduled shifts
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment (GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, etc.)
• Set up, ignite, and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Clamp, align, tack-weld, grind, and assemble metal components to required specifications
• Monitor welding processes to prevent distortion, overheating, or defects
• Inspect finished workpieces and ensure compliance with specifications
• Use hand and power tools related to welding and fabrication
• Detect faulty equipment or materials and report issues to the Maintenance Lead Hand
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance and repairs
• Complete and follow all hot work permit procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
• Report unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors
• Assist other maintenance personnel as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a welder/fabricator in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Cored)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and hot work permits
• Experience using fabrication tools and measuring instruments
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
