Unit Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Unit Manager to oversee the daily operations of a corporate staff canteen and barista coffee counters at our client’s site in Senai, Johor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for F\&B operations, staff management, food safety, customer service, cost control and client relations, ensuring a consistently high standard of service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the staff canteen and barista coffee counters.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the F\&B team, including kitchen, service and barista staff.
• Plan manpower deployment, duty rosters and daily operational activities.
• Ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene, food safety and service.
• Monitor food production, portion control, stock levels and wastage.
• Oversee barista operations and ensure consistent beverage quality and service.
• Monitor sales, food costs, labour costs and operational expenses.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Maintain good working relationships with the client and key stakeholders.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare daily/monthly operational reports and monitor agreed KPIs.
• Support audits, events, promotions and other client requirements as necessary.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Hospitality, F\&B Management, Culinary Management or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of institutional catering experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
• Experience in corporate catering, staff canteen, cafe or high-volume F\&B operations preferred.
• Experience managing barista/coffee counter operations will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and cost-control skills.
• Hands-on, proactive and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working with both operational teams and corporate clients.

Pay: RM5,000.00 per month
