Fineco Asset Management DAC (Fineco AM) is a Dublin based Asset Management Company, and a subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. (FinecoBank). Fineco AM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS \& AIFM Management Company with a MIFID top up, and it currently has approximately €39bn in assets under management. Fineco AM is a competence centre- specialised in the management of fund-of-funds, single strategy funds, as well as Structured Solutions Funds. In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally.

The company started with 5 employees and has experienced strong and consistent growth, with a current headcount of approximately 90 FTEs.

Currently Fineco AM manages 3 UCITS Umbrella Funds 1 in Luxembourg and 2 in Ireland.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Fund Solutions, you will join an analytical, curious and collaborative investment team. Key focus is to develop, share and debate investment ideas in order to deliver investment performance across the fund of funds for the benefit of clients. Leverage off your extensive investment knowledge, market analysis and fund research skills achieve positive results. You will be able to monitor your ideas and assess the effect on client portfolios through the company's data analytics. You will need to be a self-starter, who enjoys building positive working relationships.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with portfolio managers in the day-to-day management of the fund of funds to deliver positive investment results for fund of funds and end clients.
  • Assist with tasks related to fund selection and the evaluation of managers in addition to asset allocation and portfolio construction.
  • Effective planning and implementation of trades.
  • Conduct due diligence for the funds, both operational and investment, with assistance from wider team.
  • Liaise with external fund manager to complete and assess due diligence questionnaires and other relevant due diligence and monitoring activities.
  • Help with regular reporting tasks when required, positioning, performance etc.
  • Work with other teams to help with the collation and preparation of documentation for fund launches, investment committees and board meetings.
  • Work with the wider investment team and alongside other departments to develop processes and ensure operational excellence.
  • Contribute towards the continuing development of the company by participating in projects, fund launches, committees and other activities as requested from time to time.
  • Build relationships and rapport across the firm and represent the company and its investment team and investment process externally where appropriate.

Key requirements:

  • 4 years+ experience as investment analyst or investment management role
  • Someone who is passionate and curious about financial markets and investments.
  • Be a self-starter who is able to take initiative and operate successfully on an independent basis.
  • Be a committed team player.
  • High attention to detail
  • Educated to university level and CFA desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of Bloomberg, Morningstar and Factset is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and strong technical skills.
