Job Description
The Senior Executive/Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that procurement activities are carried out efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in full compliance with University policies and guidelines. The role supports partner Schools and Departments by managing end‑to‑end procurement activities across multiple spend categories.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage \& lead the RFI/ RFQ/ RFP processes including development and spearhead of roadmap to meet NTU deliverables
- Reviewing and improving procurement processes to enhance efficiency, governance, and service delivery
- Managing supplier sourcing, evaluation, and contract negotiations to achieve value for money
- Providing procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of processes and requirements
- Conducting spend analysis to identify consolidation and cost‑saving opportunities
- Ensuring all procurement activities and contracts comply with institutional policies and regulatory requirements
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal users and external suppliers
Qualifications
Must ‑ Have Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of relevant procurement experience in direct and/or indirect procurement
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end procurement processes, including sourcing, tendering, and contract management
- Good knowledge of procurement governance, compliance, and policy requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform spend analysis and develop practical recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating effectively with others
Good ‑ to ‑ Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- Experience with electronic procurement systems (for example, Ariba or similar platforms)
- Exposure to process improvement, automation, or data‑driven procurement initiatives
- Experience working in a large or complex organisation
