  • Develop solutions using Python, PySpark, Apache Spark, and SQL.
  • Work with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or AWS.
  • Process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from multiple sources.

  • Support production releases, incident investigation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Prepare technical designs, data mappings, operational documentation, and support procedures.
  • Apply appropriate security, privacy, access-control, and data-governance standards.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical reviews, estimation, and delivery planning.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other data engineers.
  • Collaborate effectively with local, offshore, and client delivery teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a senior data-engineering role.
  • Advanced experience with Python, PySpark, Apache Spark, and SQL.
  • Strong experience designing and developing enterprise data pipelines.
  • Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a comparable modern data platform.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, dimensional modelling, data warehousing, and data-lake architectures.
  • Experience working with large data volumes and distributed data-processing technologies.
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows, or similar.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software-development practices.
  • Ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop reliable, maintainable solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and clients.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience delivering data solutions within banking or financial services.
  • Experience with regulatory, risk, finance, customer-remediation, or data-migration programmes.
  • Knowledge of data-quality frameworks, metadata management, lineage, governance, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.
  • Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, or other DevOps technologies.
  • Familiarity with Parquet, Delta Lake, APIs, and modern lakehouse architectures.
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum delivery environment.
