ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across Fabrum’s range of cryogenic and gas systems, from early technical specification through to project delivery.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role combining technical problem-solving, project delivery, risk management and team capability building in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop pre-sales technical specifications with the sales team for systems covering the production, liquefaction, storage, reticulation and dispensing of gases and cryogens
- Carry out electrical engineering design, calculations, modelling, drawings and documentation to support manufacture and client requirements
- Provide expert technical guidance to solve complex engineering problems and troubleshoot issues while maintaining high-quality delivery
- Maintain engineering design and documentation control, and contribute to internal handbooks, SOPs, codes, standards and quality processes
- Identify and manage engineering risks and hazards, including participation in hazard assessment studies and compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practice
- Plan and oversee engineering deliverables, schedules, priorities and workloads to meet project timelines, budgets and quality requirements
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, clients, contractors and internal stakeholders, while coaching and developing engineers within the team
Key Skills \& Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or higher degree)
- A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in industry with hands-on exposure to manufacturing environments
- Strong electrical engineering capability across design, calculations, modelling, technical documentation and engineering deliverables
- Proven ability to solve complex technical issues and provide practical, high-quality engineering guidance
- Strong understanding of engineering risk, hazard identification, compliance and safety requirements
- Experience planning and delivering engineering work to project schedules, budgets and quality standards
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams, clients, suppliers and contractors
- Ability to work in a small, multidisciplinary teammultidisciplinary team, coach engineers, build team capability and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering systems and processes
Nice to Have
- Industrial electrical engineering experience
- Experience in gas or refrigeration environments
- Hazardous area knowledge
- Understanding of UL, CE and AS/NZ standards relevant to electrical systems, gas applications and associated risks
