The Senior Actuarial Analyst will form a critical part of the International Reinsurance Reserving team, helping to enhance and develop its foundations and capabilities.

The role will require an individual with strong actuarial, analytical and communication skills. It will require interaction on a global basis with multiple other functional areas including underwriting, finance, compliance, claims, pricing and senior management.

Role is based in Dublin and reports to the local Senior Reserving \& Risk Actuary.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the reserve adequacy studies for Everest Reinsurance Company (Ireland) Dac (ERCID)
  • Manage quarterly closing tasks; validation of plan ELR amounts, actuarial versus expected and roll forward analysis
  • Calculate Solvency II technical provisions on a quarterly basis and support Solvency II reporting requirements
  • Provide support where needed for reserving tasks within the other International regions (e.g. London or Singapore)
  • Explore and develop new reserving approaches and methodologies
  • Participate in group wide projects to help improve reserving processes
  • Ensure collaboration with Pricing Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims and Financial Services
  • Work with the Head of International Reinsurance Reserving to ensure consistency and adherence to global reserving best practices
  • Timely delivery and communication of results

Professional Experience:

  • Nearly or newly qualified Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Maths, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business or a similar field
  • A minimum of five years P\&C actuarial experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of GI reserving and (ideally) reinsurance. Experience in Solvency II reporting is an advantage.

Skills \& Abilities:

  • Strong Excel skills are mandatory. Excel VBA, SQL, Python, etc. is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ResQ is a plus.
  • Good organisational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in an international team environment as well as independently
  • A flexible and enthusiastic approach to work with a strong appetite to network internationally, learn and develop.
  • Able to work in dynamic and agile environment, especially through remote setting
