About the Role:

  • Contribute to the delivery of quality water and wastewater services to the community
  • Undertake installation, maintenance and monitoring works on Council’s water and wastewater network including water supply and wastewater drainage systems ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
  • Document, monitor and review water and wastewater data in electronic and hard copy format, reporting anomalies as required
  • Contribute to cross-team collaboration through information and knowledge sharing and providing support for maintenance and operations of treatment plants
  • Establish and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships through effective communication to ensure positive outcomes
  • Be available for weekend and on-call rosters and be available to respond to emergency callouts when required
  • Monitor own work performance and progress towards the delivery of work plan goals and report on progress to team leaders
  • Use resources efficiently, effectively and responsibly to complete tasks that either contribute to or directly deliver services
  • Contribute to the performance of Council: demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills and be accountable for own decisions and actions
  • Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current Class C drivers’ licence
  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Ability and willingness to work weekend and on-call rosters and be available to respond to emergency callouts when required
  • Physically fit to complete all aspects of the position
  • Certification III in Water Industry Operations or willing to obtain within 24 months
  • Traffic Controller Certificate or willing to obtain within 12 months
  • Drivers Licence MR (Medium Rigid) or willing to obtain within 12 months
  • Certificate of Competence in Excavator Operations or willing to obtain within 12 months
  • Confined Space entry or willing to obtain within 12 months
  • Asbestos Handling Certificate or willing to obtain within 12 months
  • Demonstrated literacy and computer skills with the ability to complete paper and electronic forms and record data
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate or willing to obtain within 12 months
  • Operate a Drain Cleaning System/ High pressure jetting Certificate or willing to obtain within 12 months
