Employment type: Full-time, permanent — approximately 38 ordinary hours per week, with overtime available

Remuneration: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum, exclusive of superannuation, plus compulsory superannuation and any applicable penalty rates, overtime and allowances

Applicable award: Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010

About the role

As a Metal Fabricator, your primary focus will be on maintaining the quality and efficiency that our brand is known for. You will ensure our unique, patented staging systems are fabricated to precise specifications, whilst managing your workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Fabricate a variety of staging system projects efficiently and to a high standard, using shop drawings, measurements and project specifications as a guide.
  • Measure, mark and prepare metal materials, and cut components to the required size using appropriate hand tools, cutting equipment and workshop machinery.
  • Shape, form and position metal components accurately to achieve the required fit and assembly for each project.
  • Carry out MIG welding to join and assemble metal components, with other joining methods such as bolting or riveting used where required.
  • Check completed welds and fabricated components for accuracy, quality and consistency, and carry out any necessary adjustments or rework.
  • Grind, clean and finish welded and fabricated items to achieve a professional finish and meet project requirements.
  • Work closely with various departments and team members to support the efficient delivery of staging system projects.
  • Operate workshop machinery, welding equipment and hand and power tools safely and correctly, while maintaining a clean, tidy and hazard-free work area.

Skills and experience required

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or a comparable recognised trade qualification.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience can substitute to the above qualification.
  • Have strong MIG welding skills in Aluminium and Steel
  • Have a keen eye for detail and take pride in the quality of your work.
  • Reliable, professional, and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Proficient in learning new systems and processes, and applying your experience to new contexts.
  • Have a strong commitment to keeping yourself and your teammates safe at all times.
  • Driver’s License

Hours and remuneration

This is a full-time position of approximately 38 ordinary hours per week, with overtime available. The remuneration for the role is $75,000 – $85,000 per annum, exclusive of superannuation, together with compulsory superannuation and any penalty rates, overtime and allowances payable under the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010.
