GEX Auto – Gulf Extrusion Automotive \& Industries is looking for a Metallurgy Technician to join our team and support metallurgical testing, quality control, and process improvement within our aluminium manufacturing operations..
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical, mechanical, and metallographic testing of aluminium samples.
- Perform spectrometer, hardness, tensile, conductivity, and microstructure testing.
- Verify alloy composition against product specifications.
- Investigate defects such as porosity, inclusions, cracks, and surface imperfections.
- Support root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Record, analyze, and report laboratory and production test results.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory testing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, customer, and company quality standards.
- Follow all HSE requirements and maintain a safe laboratory and production environment.
Qualifications \& Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in aluminum manufacturing, extrusion, casting, foundry, rolling mill, or similar industries.
- Knowledge of aluminum alloys, casting processes, heat treatment, and metallurgical testing.
- Familiarity with ASTM, ISO, and aluminum industry standards.
- Experience with spectrometers, hardness testers, UTM, and metallographic equipment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of aluminum metallurgy and alloy characteristics.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret metallurgical test results and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
