Role Summary and Impact

The Media Futures Group AI Squad is a small, agile, and autonomous innovation team dedicated to charting the course for AI transformation across APAC for one of WPP’s most important and strategic global technology clients.

By seamlessly integrating AI across media, creative, and production, this cross-functional squad delivers cutting-edge innovation and pioneering work to deliver more effective and efficient business outcomes.

The team’s mission is to solve specific business challenges by delivering demonstrable proof of AI-enabled marketing improvements, providing strategic guideposts for the broader organization.

Utilizing best-in-class tools like WPP Open and Gemini, you will innovate and deliver award-winning creative ideas while building, testing, and scaling solutions that enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and execution for our clients.

The Integrated Strategy Lead serves as the primary operational nexus and the Single Point of Contact orchestrating the entirety of the artificial intelligence workflow across the Speedboat engagement. Operating at the peak of the squad’s hierarchy, this individual functions as the ultimate strategic bridge connecting Google’s overarching corporate business objectives, the WPP legacy activation teams, and highly specialized, deeply technical engineers. Crucially, this role also acts as the definitive brand and communications planning lead, ensuring that all AI-driven automation is fundamentally rooted in deep consumer understanding and clear communication tasks. This role demands a veteran presence capable of commanding absolute respect from both senior client-side executives and deep-in-the-weeds machine learning architects.

Responsibilities

  • Brand \& Communications Planning: Act as the core brand and comms planning lead, expertly dissecting complex audience insights, competitive landscapes, and consumer barriers to define clear, actionable communication tasks for the broader campaign.
  • Strategic Orchestration: Align directly with Google Product Marketing Managers to dissect the core campaign brief, utilizing extensive domain knowledge to translate ambiguous client aspirations into concrete, mathematically verifiable solution hypotheses and conceptual algorithmic workflows.
  • Campaign Architecture: Develop the comprehensive campaign plan, dictating the specific artificial intelligence integration approach and ensuring highly disparate media and creative workstreams synchronize perfectly to deliver tangible business outcomes.
  • Performance Validation: Validate that all overarching business Key Performance Indicators were successfully achieved post-deployment. Collaborate closely with data science personnel to parse analytics and irrefutably prove the commercial efficacy of the technological intervention.
  • Change Management \& Scaling: Shift into a high-level consultancy posture as the squad prepares to rotate to a new challenge. Advise regional operations directors on the permanent structural and personnel changes required for the broader organizational rollout.

Skills and Experience

  • 10 to 12 years of progressive, demonstrably successful leadership in marketing strategy, communications planning, digital transformation consulting, or highly complex integrated media environments.
  • Deep, traditional agency experience acting as a lead strategist or comms planner, with a proven track record of turning raw audience insights and market barriers into award-winning campaign strategies.
  • Prior tenure in top-tier management consulting is considered highly advantageous, demonstrating the innate ability to drive complex, multi-stakeholder, cross-functional projects with uncompromising end-to-end ownership.
  • Advanced, nuanced understanding of the modern marketing technology ecosystem, demonstrating deep fluency in how platforms interface to drive hyper-personalization and operational efficiency at a global scale.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills are absolutely non-negotiable; must routinely deliver highly compelling, data-driven narratives to diverse audiences, gaining immediate stakeholder buy-in.
