Description:

Rooney Earthmoving Ltd is one of New Zealand’s leading privately owned civil contractors specialising in earthworks and irrigation projects. The organisation employs over 220 staff and operates a significant fleet of heavy machinery in the central South Island.

Rooney Earthmoving Ltd has a programme of lining ponds in the South Canterbury region and is searching for a skilled welder to join its existing lining team. Ideally the applicants for these roles will have:

• 8-10 years HDPE liner placement experience.
• A proven history of supervising and training staff.
• Be experienced with the construction of water storage pond projects.
• Have a good knowledge of the quality control standards used for liner installation.
• Be qualified at the different welding techniques used to join HDPE.

The position will be based at the work site and report back through the Timaru office. This is a permanent position reporting to a Project Manager.
