The Global Portfolio Manager is responsible for the Elementis portfolio’s across the global Coatings and PC market. Sets up long-term strategy and positioning for the different product categories and steers the product portfolio life cycle, ensuring optimal balance between customer experience, working capital and operational efficiency. The role leads life cycle decisions (MTS/MTO/ETO, rationalization, phase‑out, production transfers) and acts as the central coordination point across Strategic Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Sustainability, and Innovation Delivery.
Responsibilities
1- You drive portfolio strategy and positioning clarity
Define portfolio structure and category roles aligned with segment priorities. Apply clear positioning logic (e.g. good/better/best) across the portfolio. Ensure trademark oversight for key portfolio brands and decide to create, maintain of exist. Ensure alignment between portfolio strategy, segment priorities, and value propositions to drive consistent positioning and market impact.
2- You drive lifecycle strategy and portfolio health.
Define and steer lifecycle strategies (e.g. MTS, MTO, limited run, phase-out). Lead structured lifecycle programs to assess portfolio health and performance. Initiate next-generation and optimization actions to strengthen portfolio competitiveness and value creation.
3 - You drive rationalization and phase‑out leadership.
Lead SKU rationalization with clear business cases and value impact. Maintain a rolling rationalization roadmap to ensure continuous portfolio optimization. Balance working capital reduction with customer experience and service levels.
4 - You own sustainability alignment within the portfolio.
Act as the Strategic Marketing lead for sustainability and PRSA-related portfolio actions. Drive mitigation actions for at-risk products and POCOC exposure, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and long-term portfolio resilience. Lead sustainability‑related portfolio topics, including PARC activities, sustainability scoring, and improvement actions, working closely with Sustainability teams and Segment Managers.
5 - You enable cross‑functional product decision leadership.
Coordinate Portfolio life cycle priorities across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Sales, and Innovation Delivery, ensuring transparency and alignment on upcoming changes and risks. Lead cross-functional decision-making, ensuring alignment, accountability, and execution. Ensure decisions are data-driven and actionable, supported by clear portfolio governance standards. Drive availability of accurate lifecycle data in PIM and define requirements for reporting tools.

Position Requirements
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Chemistry, or equivalent. MBA is desirable.
Experience: 8–10+ years in product management, portfolio management, supply chain or commercial roles in multinational environments.
Skills: Portfolio optimization, life cycle governance, Power BI familiarity, strong project coordination.
Language: Fluent English, Portuguese.
Working arrangements: Porto based, hybrid working.
Travel: 30% - 40% of time, travel is required.
