Full-Time Barista / Cashier

Overview

The Chef’s Pantry is growing and we’re looking for a friendly, reliable Full-Time Barista/Cashier to join our team!

We’re looking for someone who is energetic, hardworking, great with customers, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include preparing coffee and specialty beverages, taking customer orders, operating the register, keeping the front area clean and organized, and providing excellent customer service.

Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

We’re looking for someone dependable who wants to become part of our team and grow with us.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and other drink options, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Greet customers warmly, take their orders, and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their experience.
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including equipment, counters, and seating areas, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Handle cash transactions with accuracy, process payments, give correct change, and balance cash drawers at shift end.
• Restock supplies such as cups, lids, syrups, and food items to ensure smooth operations during busy hours.
• Follow food handling procedures and safety guidelines to ensure quality control and compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a barista or in food service is preferred; familiarity with beverage preparation is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and warmly with diverse customers.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy shifts.
• Café or retail sales experience is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
