Salary: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour (Based on experience)

About the Role

Join the team at TJ Trailer Repairs, a specialized heavy transport engineering workshop in Hamilton. We are looking for a skilled Fabricator Welder who takes pride in high-quality workmanship. You will be working on everything from custom truck body builds to critical LT400 structural repairs.

This isn't just a "production line" job; you’ll be solving problems, reading complex drawings, and seeing projects through from a chassis to a finished, road-ready trailer.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication \& Assembly: Build and modify curtain siders, tipper bodies, and flat decks.
• Welding: Perform high-standard MIG and ARC welding on steel and aluminium.
• Repairs: Conduct structural repairs, chassis straightening, and component replacements (drawbars, tow-eyes, etc.).
• Technical: Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans accurately.
• Compliance: Ensure all work meets NZ safety standards.

Skills \& Experience

• Proven Experience: At least 2–3 years in heavy fabrication or trailer manufacturing.
• Welding Expertise: Strong MIG welding skills are essential; Aluminium/TIG experience is a major plus.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to use workshop machinery (press brakes, guillotines, etc.) safely.
• Reliability: You show up, work hard, and take pride in the "TJ Trailer" name.
• Eligibility: Must have a valid NZ Work Visa or Residency and a clean driver’s license.
