Electrical Estimator

We are on the hunt for an Electrical Estimator to join the McArthur \& Symons Electrical team in Dunedin.DUNEDIN BASED ROLE Platinum Recruitment are supporting McArthur \& Symons Electrical to find an Electrical Estimator. This newly created role with a 100% locally owned \& operated company, is to support the team and on-going workload.

The Role

McArthur \& Symons are a market leading South Island electrical company. This role will suit a NZ registered electrician ready to move off the tools \& transition into management. You will still be available to assist on the tools when required and involved with training apprentices. Assisting with all parts of electrical contracting \& workshop management, you will be provided practical on-the-job learning to understand the administerial portions of the job.

This role combines hands-on electrical expertise with accurate estimating \& commercial oversight across domestic projects. You will be expected to liaise and organise time directly with clients to meet and discuss their needs while finding solutions for them that align with our objectives. You would prepare, manage, \& validate quotes, ensuring pricing accuracy through timely follow ups \& post job review. The position requires producing high-quality electrical documentation \& coordinating materials, connections, and inspections.

Core Responsibilities

• Electrical duties incl. installation, maintenance, fault-finding, compliance
• Organising your schedule to align with our clients to be able to offer them pragmatic solutions, preparing estimates \& quotes
• Client liaising re. pricing \& identifying variances
• Producing professional electrical documentation \& reports
• Coordinate all job-related logistics \& procurement
• Liaising with independent electrical inspectors
• Scheduling staff to attend to the needs of our client while closely monitoring progress and job completion that must adhere to the clients wishes but also meet our estimations.

The Ideal Person

• NZ Electrical Licence is non-negotiable with 5 - 10years experience
• Full NZ vehicle drivers’ licence
• Electrical estimation experience is an advantage but not critical as we will complete in-house training to align with our company ethos and ethics
• Proficient with MS suite/ Excell spread sheet and computer savvy
• Open to new ideas and adaptable.

• Immediate NZ work visa
