Tutor/Trainer: Pipe Trades & Welding

We are seeking part-time and full-time Trade Instructors/Tutors with strong math and science skills who are passionate about supporting apprentices and making a difference. In this role, you will help apprentices succeed in technical training and prepare for entrance assessments, working with learners at all levels of technical training.

Instruction is delivered through one-to-one and small group settings, both online and in person, and may also include participation in pre-apprenticeship programs. Trade Instructors must be adaptable and learner-focused, aligning their teaching approach with SkillPlan’s training model and the learning outcomes of each trade.

Required:

• Trade Certification and/or Red Seal
• Provincial Instructor Diploma (PID), Bachelor of Education or related instructional training
• Teaching, tutoring or facilitation experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse learners, including Indigenous participants, individuals with learning disabilities and those with limited formal education
• Ability to provide one-to-one tutoring and small group instruction (online and in person)
