AAR JAY Truckings Limited is currently seeking a reliable Truck Driver (Class 5) to join its team in the Manawatū-Whanganui region. The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong time management skills, a professional attitude, and a commitment to safe and efficient driving while completing daily delivery routes.
The primary place of work is in the Manawatū-Whanganui region, and the role involves performing regular shuttle runs between the Manawatū-Whanganui and Wellington regions, transporting freight. All work-related travel and fuel expenses will be covered by the employer.
Key Duties:
- Drive a company vehicle to transport and deliver goods to designated clients and locations.
- Safely load and unload items, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and complete all required documentation.
- Ensure the vehicle is refuelled when necessary to support uninterrupted operations.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good overall condition.
- Promptly inform management of any delays, disruptions, or incidents encountered on the road.
- Operate the vehicle in full compliance with traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Perform regular vehicle checks and report any faults or maintenance concerns.
- Immediately notify management in case of accidents and follow established reporting procedures.
- Accurately record driving hours and activities in logbooks.
- Report any mechanical defects to the appropriate maintenance personnel without delay.
- Plan and optimise delivery routes using GPS tools to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Maintain a professional attitude and deliver courteous customer service at all times.
You will be required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and be paid between $30 to $35 per hour.
Other Requirements:
- Relevant work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must hold a valid New Zealand Class 5 Truck Driver’s Licence
- A clean and valid driving record is required.
- Physically capable of performing daily driving duties, including lifting tasks where necessary
- Dependable and willing to work weekends as required by the business.
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail and time management.
- Self-motivated, diligent, and committed to maintaining high work standards.
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
