We are seeking a Transport Assistant Iberia (m/f) to integrate Transport team department located in Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia.
OBJECTIVES:
The transport assistant is responsible for the daily organization, monitoring, on-time delivery and billing of both routine and critical shipments to and from BA GLASS plants, as well as external customers’ sites. The transport assistant acts as a single point of contact for all parties in the supply chain. He/she provides not only tailor-made, cost-efficient, and time-definite transportation solutions but also strives for impeccable customer service. The transport coordinator’s main goal is to increase the transparency, controllability, and reliability of his or her customer’s supply chain.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
- Plan and coordinate daily transport activities for finished goods;
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery of products;
- Monitor shipments and proactively solve transports issues and delays;
- Maintain regular communication with warehouses, planning, carriers and logistics service providers;
- Update and maintain accurate information in ERP system and transport management tools;
- Validate and process transports invoices;
- Support transport cost control and identify cost-saving opportunities;
- Schedule loading and unloading activities to ensure operational efficiency;
- Monitor service levels and delivery performance (OTIF);
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and transportation legislation;
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production Planning, and Warehouse teams to manage product availability and shipments;
- Handle customer complaints and transportation-related claims;
- Manage urgent shipments and replan deliveries when production or customer requirements change;
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within transports and logistics processes;
- Contribute to carrier performance evaluation and supplier relationship management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in Logistics, Procurement or relevant job experience;
- Portuguese and English fluency;
- Excellent communication skills dynamism and proactivity;
- Team player but autonomous;
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications;
- SAP and TMS preferred;
- Previous experience in similar roles (plus);
- Results orientation.
