The Supplier Development Analyst leads supplier development programs and manages the onboarding, qualification, and performance of new suppliers. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability. It also ensures alignment with company standards by leveraging quality systems, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Job Requirements
Supplier Development \& Improvement
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and improve supplier capabilities, ensuring alignment with TE’s strategic goals in quality, cost, delivery, technology, and sustainability
Strategic Leadership \& Cross-Functional Coordination
- Drive supplier development initiatives by working with Sourcing, SQE, MPDE, Engineering, and other stakeholders to assess, qualify, and improve suppliers
- Facilitate alignment across functions (e.g., Quality audit standards, Procurement requirements, Engineering specifications) to ensure consistent supplier expectations
Supplier Qualification \& Onboarding
- Own the new supplier pre-assessment process and lead onboarding programs
- Coordinate with Quality, Procurement, and Engineering to validate supplier capability
- Monitor supplier performance during the first 3 months post-onboarding (quality, delivery, service KPIs) until full compliance is achieved
Approved Supplier Management \& Performance Improvement
- Lead cross-functional supplier improvement workshops for critical suppliers (e.g., CoPQ reduction, lead-time optimization)
- Track progress and escalate gaps in accountability across functions
- Deliver supplier training programs on TE systems and procedures in collaboration with subject matter experts
Support Quality \& Continuous Improvement
- Provide support in issue resolution using structured problem-solving methodologies
- Conduct system and process audits when required to maintain quality standards
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 8-15 years’ experience in quality management within connector and cable assembly; procurement exposure is a plus
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Lean tools, and other industry standards, with ISO 9001 auditor certification preferred
- Solid experience in project-based environments, with strong understanding of material management systems and matrix organizations
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes such as molding, stamping, mechanical assembly, PCBA, or die casting
- Expert in supplier APQP tools, including PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, R\&R, and 8D methodology
- Strong problem-solving capability using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and Fault Tree Analysis
- Good understanding of MES systems, delivery improvement, and basic GD\&T principles
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and regions
- Proven ability to coach and develop suppliers, with solid business acumen in cost structure and breakdown analysis
