Description and Requirements

As an integral member of the Shock \& Vibration / Package design team, the Structural CAE \& Shock/Vibration Engineer specializes in the simulation and analysis of structural components and systems. The engineer uses finite element analysis (FEA) tools to predict how structures will respond to forces, vibrations, and other physical effects. Its work is crucial in industries such as general server, Hyperscale, and Storage. The engineer ensures that products meet safety and durability requirements before physical prototypes are built.

This engineer should collaborate with design and validation teams to optimize product performance.

Responsibility:

  • Evaluate mechanical structure professionally via FEA tools (Abaqus/ANSYS, LS-Dyna and Hyperworks etc.), and offer effective design risk assessment.
  • Deliver mechanical structure analysis reports, and the mitigation solution/plan to resolve structure defect.
  • Handle complex simulation tasks and develop reliable, cost-effective structure solution timely for server/storage/rack devices.
  • Create and optimize relative Process/Guide/Spec/SOP.
  • Work with internal/external stakeholders closely to understand relevant requirement and concerns, provide solid evaluation and solution.
  • Handle validation test includes material preparation, system setup, and schedule tracking. Plan and execute reliability testing via structure equipment (Shock Table, Vibration Table, Package Drop Machine, spectrum analyzer and relative equipment, etc.).

Requirement:

  • BS or MS degree in mechanical engineering, mechanics/structure FEA or equivalent experience beyond.
  • 5\~8 years of combined experience in directly applying CAE methods/tools for structure analysis and design of server and rack products, and demonstrated expertise in complex simulations.
  • We are building real products with world class quality, not presentations.
  • Working knowledge on shock/vibration theorem, reliability validation testing spec., related industry requirements on development of General/AI/GPU server products.
  • Strong communication skills with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently in a lab environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across many levels of a matrix organization under pressure.
