What you’ll do \| Hei mahi

As the Store Development Coordinator, you will be the absolute anchor for our property and renewal projects. This is a dynamic role designed for a detail-oriented professional who can balance administrative project support with technical knowledge and day-to-day operational requirements.

Working closely with the Store Development Manager, Retail Project Managers, and Franchise Owners, you will ensure that every FreshChoice renewal or new store build is executed with precision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Store Development Manager and Retail Projects Managers with critical project phases including procurement, budgets, equipment specifications, and charging.
  • Maintain all project documentation, including master schedules, budget trackers, and health \& safety registers.
  • Develop and maintain new and existing internal ordering, budget preparation, and accounting processes.
  • Procure equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner for franchisees and upcoming projects.
  • Ensure accurate charging and financial tracking of all procured equipment.
  • Help develop and maintain a comprehensive catalogue of fitout items.
  • Support the Property Team with administrative tasks related to lease renewals and site acquisitions as required.
  • Provide regular, proactive updates to internal and external stakeholders regarding project timelines and any supply chain disruptions.

What you’ll bring \| Hei koha

  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination or operational support, preferably within retail, property development, or construction.
  • An understanding of the trades is a distinct advantage, and experience within New Zealand supermarket operations is highly preferred.
  • A natural ability to multitask, manage competing deadlines efficiently, and bring a proactive, detail-oriented mindset to the team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the unique ability to "talk shop" with contractors and discuss "brand" with corporate stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) is preferred, though system training will be provided.
