Spa Therapist/Fitness/Hair Stylist/Beautician

Job Title : Hair stylist / Beautician / Massage Therapist / Fitness Instructor

Reports To : Salon Manager

Main Responsibilities:

• Work as a team member.
• Follow “Clean as You Go” work habits.
• Perform any special duty requested by the Salon Manager/Hotel Manager (Deck treatments, Tours escort, Public seminars etc.)
• Follow safe work routines and notify your supervisor of any dangerous or unsafe place within your assigned place of duty.
• Make frequent suggestions to your supervisor in order to improve standard and to keep your interest in your job.
• Keep your personal appearance in top shape and therefore be able to give “meet and greet” service of highest standard.
• Hair to be worn up, nails to be clean and kept short. Male therapist and fitness instructor to shave daily.
• Constantly strive to upgrade our level of service and increase the daily income.
• To ensure that your area of work is kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
• All guest questions, requests, problems or complaints must be referred to your supervisor.
• Status and discipline: As agreed in Contract with the Company.
• All meals to be taken in crew mess.
• Keep your cabin clean and tidy. No food items, no cooking utensils, etc. are allowed in your cabin. Random cabin inspection will be carried out at irregular hours. All meals to be taken in the Crew mess.
• At the end of each cruise complete general cleaning and stock take for the all spa and fitness areas.
• Must be familiar with ship’s “Code of Conduct”, “Emergency Plan”, the “Muster List” and the “SMS” manuals.
• This is an outline of your duties. You may be called upon to perform other ad-hoc duties when required.
• Familiarize him/herself with Company instructions and procedures relevant to his/her position.

* Hair Stylist

• To provide a complete hairdressing and hair styling service, manicure and pedicure service for all guests & crew as required.
• To give hair styling demonstrations as required by your supervisor during the cruise.
• To administer and take bookings for all service provided in the beauty salon.
• To assist in the sale of all health products to be supplied in this department.
• To interchange with the Masseuse/Fitness/Beautician as and when required.
• Together with the Manageress make sure you keep sufficient stocks of equipment and hairdressing accessories.
• Each guest must fill out consultation form required for the following treatment.

• Sterilization of equipment is carried out between clients including tweezers, scissors, brushes etc.

• Beautician

• To provide beauty demonstrations for all guests as required by your supervisor, this is in order to stimulate the possibilities of increasing revenue.

• To administer and take bookings for all services provided in the beauty salon.
• To carry out facials, manicure and pedicure as requested by guests.
• To assist in sale of health & beauty products to be supplied in this department.
• To interchange with the Masseuse/Fitness/Hairdresser as and when required.
• Together with your Manageress make sure you keep a sufficient stock of equipment and beauty accessories which is needed for giving a proper beauty service.
• Each guest must fill out consultation form required for the following treatment.
• Towels must be changed after every client.

• Sterilization of equipment is carried out between clients including tweezers, scissors, brushes etc. change towels after every client.

• Massage Therapist

• To provide massage demonstrations for guests as required by your supervisor or by the Hotel Manager, this is in order to stimulate the possibilities of increasing the revenue.

• To administer and take bookings for all services provided in the Fitness/Salon Area.
• To carry out various massage service for all guests and crew if necessary.
• To assist in sale of health and beauty products to be supplied in this department.
• To interchange with the Hairdresser/Beautician/Fitness as and when required.
• Together with your Manageress make sure you keep a sufficient stock of equipment and various creams & oils, which is needed for giving a proper massage service.
• Each guest must fill out consultation form required for the following treatment.
• Towels must be changed after every client.

• Sterilization of equipment is carried out between clients including tweezers, scissors and brushes etc. change towels after every client.

• Fitness Instructor

• To give keep fit and various gym/aerobics demonstrations and classes for guests as required by your supervisor. Also to give proper instruction/demos FOR use of the various gym/fitness equipment.

• To administer and take bookings for all services provided in the Spa/Fitness Area.
• To instruct and carry out various fitness programs for the guests, based on the individual age and physical fitness levels.
• To interchange with the Hairdresser/Beautician/Fitness as and when required.
• Check on equipment in your area of responsibility that has to be in good working order to maintain a proper service. Any faulty equipment to be reported to your supervisor ASAP.
• Each guest must fill out consultation form required for the following treatment.
• Sterilization of gym equipment is carried after each client.
