Software Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and support secure, reliable, and scalable software applications and systems. The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.

The role will involve developing enterprise applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and cloud technologies. The Software Engineer will work closely with development, QA, DevOps, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions while following Agile methodologies, coding standards, security practices, and CI/CD processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance scalable software applications and microservices.
• Analyse business requirements, technical specifications, and solution designs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Develop backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Develop integrations with internal systems, third-party APIs, payment services, and other enterprise applications.
• Implement secure application features using Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT, and AWS IAM.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
• Design, deploy, and support applications using AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Load Balancer, Auto Scaling, and CloudFormation.
• Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, Git, and related DevOps tools.
• Support infrastructure automation and deployment using Ansible and Terraform.
• Perform unit, API, integration, and functional testing using JUnit, Mockito, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Selenium.
• Monitor application performance and system health using CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, deployment, and production issues and implement effective solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation and support application deployment and operational activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver software solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, automation, and development processes.

Skills \& Capabilities

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in software development and enterprise application delivery.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
• Experience with C#/.NET and JavaScript or exposure to modern application development technologies.
• Good understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application deployment.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven, Git, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of automated testing using JUnit, Mockito, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Selenium.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, OAuth2, JWT, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse application and infrastructure issues.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
• Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
