As part of our ambitious agenda to advance Commercial Excellence, we are building a data-driven, scalable, and fit-for-purpose demand forecasting capability, with the leadership of the CDO. This transformation includes standardized processes, integration of multiple data sources, and implementation of advanced system support to enable better decision-making and improved service performance.

We are seeking a Shipping Demand Planning Manager to lead the end-to-end demand planning process for our shipping product segment. This role sits within the Commercial Strategy \& Operations team and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, actionable demand forecasts that align commercial ambitions with operational capacity.

The successful candidate will drive forecast accuracy, enable proactive capacity planning, and provide insights that influence commercial, operational, and financial outcomes.

Job Description: Key Responsibilities

1. Analysis and data processing* Build and maintain accurate demand forecasts by combining customer input with historical data, statistical modelling, and market intelligence. * Continuously refine forecasts by adjusting for seasonality, outliers, and external factors. * Deliver monthly a short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecast with weekly time buckets, that contains volumes (CMB), number of units, number of services and revenue by port, trade lane, customer, segment, and equipment model. * Lead Consensus meeting, consolidate and challenge demand input from Customer Growth and other participants in the meetings, ensuring a single, unbiased and data-driven forecast. * Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders. * Lead scenario planning and “what-if” analyses to evaluate the impact of demand variability, supply constraints, and external uncertainties. Use advanced modelling and AI-supported simulations to quantify risks and recommend mitigation strategies, enabling proactive and resilient decision-making.

2. Data models and advanced analytics* Maintain and continuously improve forecasting systems and tools, ensuring correct model configuration, parameter settings, and data flows. * Take ownership of forecasting models, ensuring they are fit for purpose and evolve with changing business needs. * Actively develop, validate, and improve the data models used in demand forecasting, incorporating machine learning and AI techniques where relevant. * Identify root causes of deviations and use these insights to recalibrate models, improve assumptions, and enhance overall forecasting effectiveness. * Work closely with data stewards and system owners to ensure high data quality, integrity, and consistency across inputs. * Collaborate with digital teams to operationalize predictive models, ensuring scalability and reliability.

3. Continuous improvement and optimisation* Analyse demand trends and forecast performance using key metrics such as forecast accuracy (e.g., MAPE, bias), service levels, and capacity utilization. * Regularly review demand planning processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Drive the adoption of enhanced forecasting techniques, including automation, AI-driven demand sensing, and advanced analytics. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation within the planning function. * Partner with Customer Growth, PDC, operations, fleet management, finance, tonnage allocation, and trade teams to ensure forecasts reflect the latest business intelligence. * Work closely with the Logistics Demand Planner to manage interdependence across product segments and avoid sub-optimization. * Support Account teams in demand-related discussions with key accounts. * Keep up to date with the latest demand planning, knowledge, development and trends including AI, technology, statistical and machine learning models. * Keep up to date on the latest internal business, operational and customer changes, looking for opportunities improve the Demand Forecasting product and new opportunities for the business to leverage Demand Forecasting to deliver on the business strategy and to achieve new opportunities.

Job Requirements: What We’re Looking For* Minimum 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 3+ years in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics within a B2B environment. * Experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, or related industries is strongly preferred. * Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus). * Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in statistical forecasting methods. * Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with demand planning tools. * Experience working with large datasets and databases (SQL, BI tools such as Power BI/Tableau is a plus). * Solid understanding of supply chain dynamics, capacity planning, and commercial drivers in logistics/shipping. * Knowledge of Ro-Ro operations and logistics is highly desirable. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to structure complex information into clear, compelling insights for decision[1]makers. * Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority. * High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. * Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. * Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities. * Proactive, curious, and driven to challenge assumptions and improve outcomes.
