Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Human Resources Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Manager, Human Resources Technology.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the strategy, governance, delivery, and continuous evolution of the enterprise HR technology ecosystem. This leader owns the HR technology portfolio end to end, ensuring platforms, data, integrations, and digital capabilities not only enable business objectives but actively elevate the team member experience and position the organization for scalable growth.
Operating at the intersection of technology, service delivery, and workforce strategy, this role shapes how the enterprise adopts Workday, ServiceNow, Agentic AI, and next generation case management and automation to simplify work, strengthen decision making, and improve outcomes for every team member.
This position will report to the General Manager of HR Technology, Data \& Shared Services. It will be based in Plano, Texas; the selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.
What you’ll be doing
HR Technology Strategy and Innovation
- Develop and execute a multiyear HR technology strategy aligned to enterprise and HR priorities, with a clear point of view on emerging capabilities such as agentic AI, intelligent automation, and next generation service delivery.
- Own the HR technology portfolio, including Workday, ServiceNow, integrations, automation platforms, AI enabled solutions, and supporting applications.
- Establish governance, standards, and operating models that drive consistency, scalability, compliance, and operational excellence across the HR technology landscape.
- Partner with HR leadership to identify opportunities to simplify processes, modernize experiences, and maximize the value of technology investments.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, vendor roadmaps, and industry trends, translating them into practical innovation for the enterprise.
HR Systems and Platform Leadership
- Serve as application owner and enterprise subject matter expert for the Workday ecosystem, including Core HCM, Talent, Recruiting, Compensation, Performance, and Security.
- Partner with the HR Data and Analytics team to advance reporting, analytics, and data driven workforce insights built on a trusted HR data foundation.
- Define platform roadmaps and release strategies that align with business needs, Workday best practices, and the evolving Workday innovation portfolio.
- Lead prioritization and governance for Workday enhancements, semiannual releases, and platform optimization initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and system reliability across all HR technology platforms and integrations.
- Oversee vendor relationships, licensing strategies, and managed services engagements to maximize value and performance.
Product Management and Agile Delivery
- Lead a product based operating model that connects technology delivery directly to business value and team member experience.
- Establish and mature Agile delivery practices across HR technology teams, including product roadmap management, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Partner with product managers, product owners, and delivery teams to ship capabilities that meet business objectives with speed and quality.
- Remove organizational impediments and cultivate an environment of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Lead end to end delivery of strategic HR technology initiatives, ensuring clear scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, resourcing, and executive level reporting.
Stakeholder and Business Partnerships
- Act as a trusted advisor to HR stakeholders, HR Compliance, and IT on the effective and responsible use of HR technology.
- Translate business strategy into technology capabilities, investment priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- Build strong cross functional relationships that drive alignment, shared ownership, and effective decision making.
- Communicate technology strategy, risks, progress, and outcomes clearly and credibly to executive leadership.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing team of HR technology product managers and technical professionals.
- Foster a culture of servant leadership, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development within the HR technology function.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, audit, SOX, and regulatory requirements across all HR systems and data flows.
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, Privacy, Cybersecurity, HR Compliance, and HR Data and Analytics to establish controls and governance processes for HR systems, AI enabled tools, and data management.
- Manage technology risk thoughtfully while preserving the agility needed to innovate.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field, OR 10+ years of leadership experience in Technology, HRIS, Digital HR, or Enterprise Applications.
- 8+ years of leadership experience managing managers, technical teams, and strategic programs.
- Deep expertise with Workday, including platform administration, release management, and ecosystem strategy.
- Experience leading large scale HR technology transformations and enterprise system implementations.
- Proven success implementing Agile methodologies and product-based delivery models.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and technology budgets.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and change management skills.
- Demonstrated success leading complex program delivery, including planning, execution, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, and delivery of measurable business outcomes.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
Added bonus if you have
- Workday certifications or advanced Workday implementation experience.
- Experience with Workday Extend, Prism Analytics, Adaptive Planning, Orchestrate, AI agents, and integration technologies.
- Knowledge of HR service delivery platforms including ServiceNow, case management, AI, automation, and employee self-service technologies.
- Experience supporting global or multi region HR organizations.
- Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, Agile Product Management, or equivalent.
- Experience leading data, reporting, analytics, and workforce planning initiatives.
