We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer to join our expanding design studio, Stray Dog, part of the Doggett Group, based in Harold's Cross, Dublin 12.

This is a varied and rewarding role, working across a broad range of high-quality design projects for an established client base. From concept development through to artwork, typesetting and pre-press, you'll play a key role in creative solutions across a wide range of predominantly print projects, with digital work when needed. The majority of our work is print based, so you will need a strong understanding of print design, artwork and production, while also be comfortable working across digital projects when required. You’ll work closely with clients, interpreting briefs, providing creative input, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will have extensive professional graphic design experience (typically 8+ years)in a studio or agency environment, with a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, technical ability, and creative thinking.

Key Requirements

  • Typically 8+ years' experience in a professional graphic design role.
  • Proven experience designing annual reports and catalogues, with examples available in your portfolio.
  • Strong typesetting skills with an exceptional eye for layout, typography, and detail.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
  • Strong experience designing for both print and digital platforms.
  • Experience designing social media graphics and assets.
  • Excellent understanding of print production processes and pre-press file preparation.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with clients, building strong working relationships.
  • Ability to interpret client briefs, take direction, and manage feedback effectively throughout the design process.
  • A good understanding of accessible design principles (including WCAG) and experience preparing accessible documents, or a willingness to further develop these skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage an advantage:

  • Experience with data merge and mailing campaigns.
  • Experience working with keylines and packaging/carton design.
  • Support and develop junior members of the design team through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.
  • Video, animation, or illustration skills.
