Job Description
  • Provide a high level of administrative support for Graduate Research School (GRS) activities.
  • Supports the day-to-day functioning of the GRS office and provides support for doctoral and Master of Philosophy application processing.

The Graduate Research School (GRS) has three portfolios: Researcher Education and Development; Policy and Progressions; Examinations.

The Opportunity \| Te Whiwhinga mahi

This is a full-time permanent role based at AUT’s City Campus, in the Graduate Research School (GRS). As the School Administrator you will provide a high level of administrative support for GRS functions, and personal assistance to the Manager and the Dean of the Graduate Research School. You will work on a variety of tasks related to administration to ensure that the Dean, Manager and Portfolio Leaders are fully supported. You will be required to use initiative to deal with a wide range of tasks efficiently and promptly. Excellent writing skills in drafting communications, and experience in minute taking are essential as is attention to detail. You will also provide support for doctoral and Master of Philosophy application processing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial and office administration support for the GRS
  • Preparation of agendas and minutes for board meetings
  • Support with processing doctoral and MPhil applications

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have previous knowledge and experience of tertiary education administration (3 years+), particularly at postgraduate level is desirable;
  • Have advanced administrative and communication skills, with a good working knowledge of the MS365 suite and CRM.
  • Have previous knowledge of AUT systems such as Arion and AUTOne is desirable.
  • Be extremely organised and efficient and an innovative problem solver who communicates exceptionally at all levels;
  • Be a team player who takes initiative, is proactive and can work autonomously as well as part of a team;
  • Be flexible and cooperative with a strong work ethic

  • Salary Ranges \| Ngā Utu: $62,000 - $73,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
