Job Description

This position ensures that all occupational safety and health aspects of the hotel are in place and to provide a safe and hospitable environment for guests and associates by performing the followings:

  • Conducts quarterly meetings with all Departments.
  • Briefs employees on all related safety aspects.
  • To brief on Occupational Safety and Health in orientation program for new staff.
  • To assist employer and the Safety and Health committee and implementing occupational
  • safety and health programs at work place.
  • To carry out instruction made by Safety & Security Manager/Lead or employer on any issue pertaining to safety and health at work place.
  • A safety supervisor shall, before end of every month, MUST submit safety audit or reports pertaining to safety and his activities to Safety & Security Manager/Lead.
  • Any other task/job/role that is assigned by the Management.

OSHA Responsibility

  • To assist in implementing safety and health policies and procedures, conduct safety inspection, and in house regular training courses on evacuation procedures, handle fire fighting equipment and other related duties.
  • Develops a close working relationship with local government agencies including the DOSH and various protocol offices.
  • Ensures that all first aid boxes are continuously maintained (well equipped).
  • To inspect the respective place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substances, appliances or processes which are liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work especially when the Safety & Security Manager/Lead is unavailable.
  • To investigate any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which has happened in the place of work.
  • To assist the safety and health committee in any inspection of the place of work for the purpose of checking the effectiveness and efficiency any measure taken in compliance with the Act or any regulations made under the ACT.
  • To collect, analyze and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning and occupational disease which have occurred at the place of work.
  • To assist any officer in carrying out his duty under the ACT or regulations made under the ACT.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or related qualifications.

-Fresh graduate encouraged to apply. Previous work experience in the police force, armed forces or at least one-year experience in safety work would be an added advantage.

-Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia and give clear written and verbal instructions. Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.

  • Good knowledge of Occupational safety and Health and Hazard control practices.

  • Knowledgable in computer spreadsheet software.

  • Professional and neat in appearance and grooming.

  • Punctual and honesty.

  • Able and willing to work on shift, night duty, weekend and public holiday

Pay: From RM2,100.00 per month
