Restorative Care Aide

Cedarwood Village is an accredited 90 bed nursing home located in Simcoe, ON (Norfolk County).

We currently have an opening for Permanent Part-Time Restorative Care Aide.

POSITION :Restorative Care Aide. This position reports to the Director of Care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Restorative Care Aide participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide the opportunity for residents to live up to their maximum potential by increasing their ability to enhance their Quality of Life through programs such as mobility, functional exercise, communication and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement and evaluate both individual and group restorative/adaptive programs, based on assessed needs and as referred.
• Set up and clean areas as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.
• Participate in development and revision of restorative care programs under the guidance of the Director of Care/registered staff.
• Work cooperatively with other departments, residents, family and therapists for goal development and treatment or recommendation.
• Implementation of restorative program as per policy.
• Complete resident quarterly assessment and document progress.
• Complete LTCF assessments and required documentation
• Attend interdisciplinary team conferences.
• Complete restorative assessment to determine level of assistance required.
• Assess residents’ abilities, values, interests, past experiences and readiness to learn/participate
• Working knowledge of LTCF and impact on nursing rehabilitation
• Assesses the condition of adaptive equipment such as walkers, gait trainers, and crutches, and may have the duty of keeping this equipment clean. The aide arranges for repair or replacement of equipment when necessary.
• Maintains alertness, observing and reporting changes in resident physical, mental or emotional condition
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience in LTC an asset

Education

• Restorative Care Aide Certificate, or
• Physiotherapy Assistant

Job Types: Permanent, Part-time

Licence/Certification:

• Restorative Care Certificate or PTA (preferred)
