The lab is part of UCL AI Centre and the Intelligent Systems group. The candidate will carry out world-class research in artificial intelligence with a focus on reinforcement learning, generative learning (e.g., foundational models) applied to multi-agent systems and/or human-AI interaction.

We are recruiting for 2 posts at Grade 6/7 (Grade 6 salary scale £36,433 - £41,833); (Grade 7 salary scale (£45,103 - £52,586). This post will be funded until 21/11/2026 in the first instance.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science (or related fields) or close to completion (e.g., the candidate should have submitted their PhD dissertation) for an appointment at grade 7 or a relevant Master or Undergraduate degree for an appointment at grade 6B. The candidate should have experience in the broad area of artificial intelligence and its applications, as proven by publications in key conferences and journals. Previous experience (or a demonstrated strong interest) in reinforcement learning and generative learning will be considered as a plus. Experience in the area of human-AI interaction (broadly intended) might also be beneficial for this role.
