A Registered Nurse (RN) at Regis Healthcare provides clinical nursing care to elderly residents, ensuring their health, safety, comfort, and wellbeing in residential aged care facilities or community care settings.
Main Duties
Assess residents’ health conditions and care needs
Administer medications and treatments safely
Monitor vital signs and health changes
Develop and update individualized care plans
Coordinate with doctors, allied health staff, and families
Supervise Personal Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when needed
Support residents’ emotional wellbeing and dignity
Ensure compliance with aged care and infection control standards
Work Environment
Residential aged care homes
Dementia care units
Community and home care settings
Rotating shifts including weekends, nights, and public holidays
Skills and Requirements
Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration
Strong clinical and patient care skills
Medication administration knowledge
Communication and teamwork abilities
Compassion and patience when working with elderly residents
Ability to handle emergency situations calmly
Computer skills for clinical documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
Experience in aged care, dementia care, or clinical nursing
First Aid and CPR certification
Knowledge of aged care quality standards
Pay: From $8,500.00 per month
