The Chief Ombudsman works with his staff to help New Zealanders in their dealings with government agencies. The focus is on handling complaints against government agencies, undertaking investigations and inspections, and encouraging good administration. The Chief Ombudsman is independent and impartial, with the goal of fairness for all.

The role sits within the People Enablement team, which delivers expert HR, recruitment, health and safety advice, employment relations support, and organisational development services. As part of the People and Capability group we work alongside the Learning and Capability function to ensure our people have what they need to thrive.
As Recruitment Advisor, you'll be the go-to person for end-to-end recruitment across the Office for the duration of this fixed term role. You will be the go-to person for hiring managers and candidates alike - guiding managers through the process, ensuring every candidate has a positive and engaging experience, and keeping things moving in a busy environment.
You will manage our Applicant Tracking System (Springboard), build relationships with agencies and providers, and contribute to making our recruitment more inclusive and reflective of te ao Maori. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where your work will have a visible and immediate impact.
This is a fixed term role to cover for parental leave, until early February 2027.

Depending on skills and experience the salary is expected to be between $95,810 and $125,750, with the midpoint being $119,762.
This role is based in Wellington. Please note we are unable to consider 100% remote working for this role.
