Full-Time Opportunities \| Hoani Waititi Marae
Help rangatahi thrive. Strengthen whānau. Grow your career through kaupapa Māori.
Hoani Waititi Marae is seeking applications for Rangatahi Oranga Kaimahi to join our dedicated Rangatahi Oranga team.
These opportunities are initially fixed-term until 30 June 2027 to align with current programme funding.
We're expanding the capacity of our Rangatahi Oranga team to support the continued delivery and development of our programmes, responding to the increasing needs of the rangatahi and whānau we walk alongside across West Auckland.
Working within a kaupapa Māori and Whānau Ora approach, you'll walk alongside rangatahi to build confidence, strengthen identity, overcome barriers, and pursue positive futures. You'll work closely with rangatahi, whānau, community providers and cross-agency partners to create positive outcomes across education, employment, hauora and social wellbeing.
About the opportunity
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll: * Build trusted relationships with rangatahi and their whānau. * Support rangatahi to identify and achieve their aspirations. * Advocate across education, employment and community services. * Facilitate one-to-one, group and whānau-based support. * Work collaboratively with community partners to deliver positive outcomes.
About you
We're looking for people who genuinely care about supporting rangatahi and are motivated to make a positive difference in their lives. Experience working with rangatahi Māori through youth development, mentoring, community services, education or hauora would be an advantage. Equally important is your ability to build trusted relationships, work collaboratively, and engage with empathy, integrity and respect.
Ideally, you'll bring: * Experience supporting rangatahi and whānau. * Confidence working one-to-one, with groups and alongside whānau. * Strong communication and relationship-building skills. * Confidence working within kaupapa Māori and Te Ao Māori environments. * Strong organisational and administration skills. * A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
Formal qualifications in youth work, social work, hauora or a related field are welcomed but not essential. We value practical experience, strong relationships, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
We particularly encourage applications from people who can strengthen our ability to support wāhine rangatahi.
Why join Hoani Waititi Marae?
Hoani Waititi Marae is more than a workplace - it is a living expression of whanaungatanga, manaakitanga and whakapapa.
Since 1980, we have supported urban Māori across West Auckland through kaupapa grounded in te reo Māori, tikanga Māori and whānau-centred practice. You'll join a supportive, values-driven team where your mahi contributes directly to stronger futures for rangatahi, whānau and our wider community.
