Job Description

Project Manager / Senior Project Manager

Client‑Side Retail \| Precincts \& Neighbourhood Centres \| Perth

If you’re passionate about retail and precinct development — how they perform for owners, how they support tenant success, and how well‑designed neighbourhood centres support thriving communities — this is an opportunity to lead projects that genuinely matter.

Join a Perth‑based, client‑side team partnering with retail developers and asset owners to shape major retail environments and neighbourhood centres across Western Australia.

The Opportunity

With a growing client asset portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join our multidisciplinary Perth team. Acting as a trusted advisor to developers, landlords and retail asset owners, you’ll lead the delivery of major retail builds, shopping centre expansions, refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades.

This is a true client‑side leadership role. You’ll take ownership of projects from feasibility and approvals through design, procurement, delivery and handover. You will ensure all project outcomes are commercially aligned, mitigating risk while actively supporting broader asset and leasing strategies.

Your portfolio will include:

  • Steering major retail builds, shopping centre expansions, and mixed-use retail precincts.
  • Driving end-to-end development of external pad sites, from site positioning and services coordination through to completion.
  • Leading the procurement of design consultants and head contractors, from the production of the tender documents through to contract execution and appointment.
  • Managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, specialist consultants, and head contractors to maintain design integrity, time, cost, and quality.
  • Developing and tracking master project programs, budgets, commercial reporting, and risk registers, providing clear, practical, and data-driven advice to clients.
  • Acting as Superintendent to administer standard building contracts (e.g., AS4902/AS4000 series), managing variations, EOTs, progress claims, and handovers.
  • Applying a strong understanding of leasing contracts to align delivery schedules with lease milestones, and coordinate landlord works with incoming tenants.
  • Leading interface management with local government, planning bodies, and infrastructure authorities to secure critical service connections and handovers.

About You

You’re a client‑side project leader — commercially astute, confident with stakeholders, and motivated by delivering outcomes that balance design quality, operational performance and financial return. You enjoy being close to the work, guiding decisions and building trusted relationships.

You will bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering client‑side retail project management or managing retail centre building projects
  • Demonstrated experience across the full project lifecycle, including planning, design management and delivery
  • Strong client‑facing communication skills, with confidence leading project teams and stakeholders
  • Sound commercial judgement and understanding of time, cost, risk and quality
  • A genuine interest in building a long‑term career in the WA property and infrastructure market
  • A tertiary qualification in property, construction, project management or a related discipline (preferred)

Most importantly, you bring a genuine passion for retail — and the ambition to extend your influence. As part of a multidisciplinary Perth team, you’ll have the opportunity to leverage your retail expertise while gaining exposure to projects across other sectors supporting Western Australia’s continued growth.

If you’re looking to combine your project construction expertise with trusted, client‑side leadership — while expanding your impact and career — this is an opportunity to shape places, outcomes and long‑term value.
