As a Project Engineer, you will provide project engineering as well as planning and analysis within the Utilities Project Development division. You will develop near term projects and long-range plans that will inform future capital investment opportunities and strategies, ensuring current and future regulations and standards are met and reliable sanitary and reclaimed water services are provided to Calgarians. Primary duties include:
Qualifications* A degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. Click here for more details. * Experience in project management, including managing consultants and familiarity with project reporting and procurement processes, as well as business and financial management experience, are essential. * Experience with assessment and design of linear sanitary infrastructure is essential. * Experience working with municipal, provincial, and federal legislations related to the water utility, as well as experience with operations, mobility, planning, and construction management would be considered assets. * Familiarity with ArcGIS software and hydraulic modeling of sanitary systems would be considered an asset. * Success in this role requires system thinking, analytical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, organization and time management skills, along with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively on technical, operational, and business issues with different groups and individuals.

Workstyle* This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees.
