About the Partnership
Laya Healthcare and WebDoctor have partnered to deliver a pioneering healthcare model across two clinic locations in Dublin. These clinics offer a comprehensive range of services – from general practice and diagnostics to women’s health, dermatology, and specialist assessments – all designed to provide Laya members with exceptional, accessible healthcare.
We are looking for a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Practice Nurse to join our team and play a central role in the day-to-day clinical operations of our new clinic(s).
The Opportunity
As a Practice Nurse within our clinics, you will be integral to the delivery of a wide range of clinical services. Working alongside a GP and Practice Manager, you will perform key nursing duties across all aspects of general practice. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new clinic from the ground up, with the scope to grow your clinical skills and shape the nursing service.
Key Responsibilities
LAYA and Webdoctor are dedicated to delivering integrated, patient-centric primary care through our innovative care model. As a Nurse Practitioner across one of our new clinics in Swords, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between cutting-edge digital health services and high-quality, in-person clinical excellence. This role requires a commitment to comprehensive care, ensuring that every patient benefits from seamless continuity whether they are engaging remotely or in the clinic, supported by modern technology and dedicated clinical staff.
Clinical Care
- Provide core nursing services to patients within the safety limitations of the clinic environment.
- Have input into clinical services as appropriate and agreed.
- We welcome Nurses who are keen to explore and develop specialist service areas within the practice, contributing to the expansion of our clinical offering.
- Ensure continuity of care for all patients, effectively managing the transition between virtual and in-person consultations.
- Collaborate with the Lead GP and wider clinical team to manage and implement preventative health strategies.
- Delivering nurse-led consultations including biometrics, urine testing, and swab testing
- Performing general phlebotomy and blood testing services
- Administering vaccinations
Clinical Governance \& Administration
- Record and maintain accurate patient records in line with clinic procedures and data protection requirements
- Assist with sample collection and point-of-care testing
- Collaborate effectively with the Lead GP and Practice Manager to maintain efficient patient flow and provide comprehensive administrative support as needed, with a particular willingness to assist during periods of Practice Manager leave.
- Audit patient care and practice services to support continuous improvement
- Maintain and check practice equipment in accordance with clinic protocols
- Support the Practice Manager with clinical stock management, including ordering, sourcing, and maintaining inventory of consumables, equipment, and vaccines, ensuring adequate supply levels are maintained
- Support the drafting of practice protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant clinical policies
- Provide telephone triage and clinical advice as required
- Participate in Health Promotion and Education initiatives
Person Specification
Essential
- Registered General Nurse with valid NMBI registration
- Willingness to cross-train and provide cover for Practice Manager administrative tasks and duties during their absence.

- Proficiency in phlebotomy, vaccination administration, and ECGs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using electronic patient management systems
- Strong commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive interest in upskilling to expand nurse-led services within the scope of practice and clinical competencies with the support of the clinic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Right to work in Ireland
Desirable
- Post-registration experience: minimum 5 years in a GP practice or primary care setting, including experience in the Irish healthcare sector
