Nauru Medical Centre is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's financial operations. Candidates with hospital or healthcare industry experience are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Process payroll and ensure timely statutory and tax compliance.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor cash flow and support treasury management functions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors and assist during financial audits.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
- Support procurement and inventory accounting processes within a healthcare setting.
Qualifications \& Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience.
- Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare facility, or medical organization is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
