Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pipe Welder - Combo to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding and fabrication of piping systems using a variety of welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, FCAW, and SMAW, across diverse project sites. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, measuring instruments, and blueprints will ensure the highest quality standards are met. Duties

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute pipe welding tasks
• Perform welding operations using TIG, MIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and welding techniques on various metal materials and sheet metal components
• Measure and mark materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure proper fit-up and alignment
• Fabricate pipe assemblies and ductwork according to ASME codes \& standards and project specifications
• Use power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and gas metal arc welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components
• Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites and fabrication shops
• Operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely during material handling and installation processes
• Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy
• Collaborate with team members to assemble piping systems efficiently while adhering to blueprint specifications and mechanical fabrication standards

Skills

• Extensive construction site experience with a focus on pipe welding and fabrication projects
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including TIG, MIG, FCAW, SMAW, welding, and gas metal arc welding
• Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical blueprints interpretation, and interpret ASME codes \& standards
• Skilled in measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math, and other measuring tools for precise fabrication
• Mechanical knowledge of pipe systems, ductwork assembly, metal materials handling, machining processes, plasma cutting operations \& sheet metal fabrication
• Familiarity with safety protocols related to construction sites and fabrication shops; committed to maintaining a safe work environment
• Experience with power tools \& hand tools essential for cutting, grinding \& assembling components efficiently
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for proper assembly \& installation of piping systems
• Knowledge of mechanical fabrication techniques including assembly of complex piping configurations in accordance with industry standards
