About the Role

Our Pharmacy Department at Dunedin Hospital is seeking a positive and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and supportive team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role will include a wide range of pharmacy technician activities including ward supply, in and outpatient dispensing, non-sterile compounding, stock control, assisting in the general day to day running of the dispensary and has the option of Aseptic Compounding for a level 5 qualified technician. We are also working to upskill our technician workforce so the role will also involve medicine reconciliation processes and supporting the management of patients on Home IV antibiotic therapy for appropriately trained technicians.

You will possess strong time management, planning, and organisational skills. Naturally, you will be an excellent communicator, and a trusted and positive team player. It is also essential you can pick things up quickly, perform in an accurate and precise manner and work well within a diverse and ever-changing environment.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
  • High levels of personal and professional integrity

Salary range

This role belongs to the APEX Pharmacy Collective Agreement and falls between Step 3 ($72,074) and Step 7 ($86,719) p.a pro rata of the Pharmacy Technician scale.
