Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pump Technician to install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul various types of pumps and pumping systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, diesel-driven pumps, electric pumps, and associated mechanical equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and safe work practices to ensure reliable equipment performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, dismantle, repair, and overhaul different types of pumps and pumping equipment. (6 Inch \& 12Inch Centrifugal Pumps)
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on centrifugal, submersible, vertical turbine, multistage, diaphragm, and diesel-driven pumps.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Replace bearings, seals, shafts, impellers, couplings, wear rings, gaskets, and other pump components.
- Carry out pump alignment using dial indicators or laser alignment tools.
- Inspect and maintain motors, gearboxes, valves, pipelines, and related accessories.
- Conduct performance testing after repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, P\&IDs, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Record maintenance activities, inspection reports, and spare parts usage.
- Coordinate with supervisors and site engineers to schedule maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company safety procedures and HSE regulations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the workshop and at project sites.
- Assist in emergency breakdown maintenance whenever required.
- Support equipment mobilization and demobilization for project sites.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, Pump Mechanic, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pump Technician, preferably in dewatering, construction, industrial, or oil \& gas sectors.
- UAE/GCC experience will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of centrifugal, submersible, diesel-driven, and electric pumps.
- Experience in mechanical seal replacement, bearing replacement, shaft repairs, and pump overhauling.
- Knowledge of pump alignment, vibration analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with diesel engines, electric motors, and generator-driven pumping systems.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and workshop tools.
- Basic understanding of electrical controls related to pumps is an advantage.
- Ability to read technical manuals and engineering drawings.
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet maintenance deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, or at remote project locations when required.
HSE Responsibilities
- Follow all company HSE policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of oils, lubricants, and other hazardous materials.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with dewatering systems and high-capacity pumping equipment.
- Familiarity with Atlas Copco, Godwin, Tsurumi, Grindex, Flygt, Selwood, or similar pump brands.
- Valid UAE Driving Licence is mandatory.
Pay: From AED4,000.00 per month
