SpiderSmart Learning Center of Waterloo is currently seeking enthusiastic and qualified educators to join our team as part-time Math Tutor for Grades 9–12. Tutors will work with students in one-on-one sessions within a small group setting, using our structured SpiderSmart curriculum—no lesson planning or grading outside of class is required.
We are seeking individuals with strong confidence in teaching high school mathematics, including Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. Candidates who are capable of teaching Calculus are encouraged to indicate this in their application.

Responsibilities:
- Teach up to 3 students at a time in Grades 9–12, providing individualized instruction within a small group setting
- Use the SpiderSmart curriculum to support students in understanding core math concepts and solving problems
- Assist with homework, test preparation, and strengthening foundational knowledge
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Foster a focused, respectful, and encouraging learning environment
Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or a related field
- University students or graduate students with strong teaching or tutoring experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Math Curriculum (Grades 9–12), particularly senior courses including Functions, Advanced Functions, Data Management, and Calculus \& Vectors. Please indicate in your application if you are able to teach Calculus.
- Experience teaching subjects such as Algebra, Function, Advanced Function, Calculus \& Vectors.
- Able to present complex mathematical concepts in an accessible and engaging manner
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and academic needs
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications (Assets):
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation, or acceptance into an OCT program starting in September
