Part-Time Design Assistant

West Side Cleveland \| 16 plus Hours Per Week

AutoCAD proficiency is required. Candidates without AutoCAD experience will not be considered.

Established custom residential design firm seeks a Design Assistant to support project development and drafting activities. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in the residential design industry while working alongside an experienced designer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings
• Assist with design development and project documentation
• Research and source furnishings, finishes, fixtures, and materials
• Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and clients as needed
• Assist with project coordination and follow-up
• Help maintain an organized and efficient design studio
• Support the principal designer with a variety of project-related activities

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Understanding of interior design principles and space planning
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
• Professional, positive, and eager-to-learn attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or 2020 Design
• Degree or coursework in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field
• Interest in custom residential design
• Experience working with vendors, materials, or product sourcing is a plus
