Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paramedic specializing in Critical Care to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency medicine, hospital settings, and critical care transport. This role involves delivering advanced pre-hospital care, managing complex patient needs, and ensuring safe and efficient transportation for critically ill or injured patients.

Duties

  • Provide advanced life support and critical care interventions during patient transport, including airway management, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiology evaluations, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Manage airway devices (DME) and execute procedures such as venipuncture and injection administration with precision and aseptic technique.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively while documenting patient care accurately in compliance with protocols.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating proficient driving skills while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, triage teams, and emergency room personnel to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Lift heavy equipment or patients as needed while maintaining proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
  • Apply knowledge from Level I Trauma Centers and Level II trauma experience to deliver specialized critical care in urgent situations.

Skills

  • Extensive critical care experience combined with hospital or emergency room background.
  • Proficiency in triage procedures and emergency medicine protocols.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to emergency care.
  • Skilled in airway management, medication administration, venipuncture, and vital signs assessment.
  • Knowledge of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) usage within critical care settings.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations accurately under pressure while maintaining aseptic technique.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on physiology and anatomy knowledge.
  • Valid EMT certification with additional credentials in advanced life support preferred.
  • Experience with medical injections, medication protocols, and emergency procedures essential for effective patient care.
