About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Orthopaedic Booking Administrator to support our busy clinical service in Invercargill. In this key role, you will coordinate patient appointments, manage surgical bookings, and ensure a smooth experience for patients from referral through to treatment.

This role is heavily involved with administrative processes for Outpatients, and we're looking for someone who is enjoys a fast paced, patient facing environment as the role also involves a significant amount of communication with patients and other Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern staff members.

All mandatory and job specific training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling outpatient clinics and theatre bookings
  • Managing patient referrals and waitlists
  • Liaising with clinicians, patients, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintaining accurate records and meeting service targets

  • Previous administrative or healthcare experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
  • Strong computer skills are essential
  • A patient-focussed, professional approach
