Chapman-Davies Optometry is an independent optometry practice that has been meeting the eye care needs of the local community at the highest level since the 1920’s. Our optometrists are experienced in the consultation room and experts in their respective fields. Also educating the new generation of optometrists at the University of New South Wales.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Opportunity has opened up for the right candidate to join our family as an optical assistant / receptionist / dispenser, and work in a friendly environment with ample learning opportunities.

This role is responsible for glasses \& sunglasses sales, reception and admin duties. So ideally, you will be confident and outgoing. You must also be savvy with computers and a quick learner.

This is a part time position or casual role, flexible from 1 - 3 days per week to fill an immediate need, which can be extended to more days for the right candidate. You may also be rostered for Saturdays (or Alternate Saturdays) as one of the rostered days.

For this job hire, there is an immediate need to fill THURSDAY as one of the rostered days. You must be available for THURSDAY as one of the rostered days to apply for this position.

SKILLS \& EXPERIENCE:

• Team player with a can-do attitude and is eager/ proactive to learn
• Ability to adapt and think on the job
• Positive and open personality
• Willingness to learn and keep up to date with product knowledge especially with Frames, Spectacle lenses and Contact lenses.
• Good communication skills
• Confident in offering recommendations for effective sales
• Proficient in computer work involving but not limited to Data entry, Email, Word processing, and Excel sheet maintenance
• Previous experience in retail or optical industry is a bonus but not a must, we are more than happy to show you the ropes.
• Able and willing to contribute to the CHAPMAN-DAVIES marketing and social media strategy.
