The opportunity
We are seeking a capable, motivated and experienced professional to support the delivery of the Environmental Services Unit Workplan, which assists in the coordination of Environmental Service Functional Area (EnvSFA) work. In this role, you will contribute to prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery (PPRR) activities by coordinating operational processes, supporting emergency management functions and committees, maintaining situational awareness, and delivering timely and accurate reporting.
Working collaboratively with a range of internal and external agency and emergency management stakeholders, you will help achieve effective environmental outcomes during emergencies while contributing to the continuous improvement of operational practices, processes and capabilities. This position is ideally suited to a proactive individual with strong project management organisational, and communication skills who is looking to further develop their experience in emergency management, environmental operations, and cross-agency collaboration.

This role sits within the EPA’s Regulatory Practice and Services Division, which provides scientific and technical expertise, along with regulatory strategy, planning, and reporting. A key focus is supporting coordinated emergency management, working in close partnership with internal teams and external agencies across the PPRR cycle to ensure effective environmental regulation and rapid, integrated response to emergency events.
You will join a passionate, high-performing division with a strong track record in delivering regulatory practice, driving continuous improvement, and leading incident and emergency management and recovery. The role is based in our Parramatta office; however, other NSW office locations may be considered, subject to negotiation and availability.
